Heck!
It isn't even a normal weekend.
It's an artificially created three-day weekend.
Monday's a holiday.
It is being called Memorial Day.
Some folks don't even know any better.
They think it's always been on the last Monday of May.
Others think it's for remembering all who have passed.
Many don't even concern themselves about why the holiday even exists, other than for another day off.
There are some folks who won't even get the real Memorial Day off, even though it's on a Saturday.
I am thinking to myself that all of the holidays that've been moved to Monday should just be called WTF Day.
. . .at least until folks understand what they are about.
It isn't about barbecues or shopping for bargains.
It's about remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice to we could even have this day.
