Fifth Year Anniversary Post

I started Film Assessment five years ago today with my very first review being for The LEGO Movie. At the time, I had no idea I'd still be at it five years later. I figured it'd be a short-term hobby at most, but I've kept with it ever since and never really questioned it. In addition to being an outlet for me to express my interest in film, I believe that striving to actively maintain this blog has fostered a general sense of commitment in me and improved my writing skills as well. I've actually learned quite a lot from this whole enterprise, and consider that knowledge to be invaluable.

To share some stats, my all-time page view history is currently at 48,150 views (almost 20,000 more views than the count as of this time last year). Last summer, Ant-Man and the Wasp broke the 1,000 view barrier and became my highest read review with 1,165 total views. My goal for this year is to get another review past 1,000 views and try to surpass Ant-Man and the Wasp!

Before I give everyone a sneak peek at what you can expect to see from me these next few months, I'd just like to take a moment and thank everyone who's read any of my reviews for taking the time to do so. I genuinely appreciate it, and I'm happy to be considered your trusted source for film reviews. If you're not already doing so, feel free to follow any of my social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) @filmassessment to stay up to date with my latest posts. You can even follow the blog directly with your Google account if you go over to the right hand sidebar.
