Song Review: Little Mix Drown Out the "Sweet Melody" of a Cheater on Latest Confetti Single

Sure. Little Mix is mistakenly going toe-to-toe with pop legend Kylie Minogue when the quartet releases their sixth studio album Confetti on November 6.

Sure. While "Break Up Song" was a strong lead single, follow up efforts such as "Not a Pop Song" and "Happiness" were quite lackluster.

However, serviced as the project's official third single, the new "Sweet Melody" rights any wrongs of the current era.

Directed at musician boyfriends of their past, Little Mix sings of empty words no longer having an effect on their gullible hearts. While the boys' beats were catchy and mesmerizing, their lyrics carried no emotional weight.

"Sweet Melody" catches the girl group at a young age, fooled by boys in a band. -- Hmm, wonder who Jesy, Jade and Perrie could be referring to? -- As each lady was dazzled by charm and sweet nothings, their lover would be gazing at other women. Lying, cheating, not valuing what they had, until enough was enough. Little Mix moved on.

"Every time we go dancing, I see his straying eyes, gave him too many chances, push my gears too many times," Jesy sings on the second verse, finally kicking the scrub to the curb.

While the pop track, built around a "doo-doo-doo-doo" earworm, highlights the strength to end an unhealthy relationship, it details just how difficult it might be to leave. Little Mix could see the warning signs from miles away, but were continuously hypnotized and lured back by the beat. Moths drawn to the flame.

As with every Little Mix release, the song's power lies in the chemistry between the four female members. The gorgeous harmonies of "Sweet Melody" blend perfectly with sassy deliveries and an overall sense of female empowerment and support.

The accompanying music video further emphasizes the power in realization and independence.
