NEW YORK FASHION WEEK : Marc By Marc Jacobs SS14 RTW

I really loved this collection. I think I was on the fence until the bright splash of brilliant blue sequins and then it was love. I preferred the men's casual suiting though. It was a bit off duty rockstar. It isn't clear from the photo below if he is carrying a handbag or not though.....

I have to add that blue seemed to be the major color for this collection as it appeared in washed out hues, bright acid tones and even as a splash of color across eyelids. So get ready to invest in some Electric Eel by MAC because it looks like that is exactly what it is.

I'm not sure if this is just me or not, but I always see a sort of high glamour of the 70s in Marc by Marc. It's evident in the fabric choice and cut of the clothing. I have add that I wont be doing the silk wrap around my hair and neck any time soon either! But there have, for many seasons now, been a 70s element in the collections. I think since that major 70s style one a few Spring Summer collections ago. The one that spawned a thousand high street knock offs and made Topshop resemble a vintage jumble sale for a whole summer.

Oh and get ready to sweat it out! PVC and leather have cropped up in a fair few collections now. In small doses but its there. Not traditional fabric choices for SS but there you go! I do love a good bit of a PVC or leather in a collection. Toughens it up. Every SS it is the same thing - too many floaty pastel fabrics that bore me. I get so fed up of it.
